I recently came across a site about Tajikistan and decided to share a link with you. The author of the site (Peter Flindell) is a photographer so it has some breathtaking pictures of Tajikistan. The photos are followed by short stories about the events and the context in which the pictures were taken. I got in touch with the author via email and he said he has a new series of pictures on Tajikistan, which will be available on his new site , sometime in April of this year.

Also noteworthy in this respect is Erik Petersson’s blog “Dushanbe Pictures”: http://dushanbepics.blogspot.com/

the report about Tajikistan is a bit dramatized, but by and large true. It is like going to the worst parts of the country and saying that all the country lives in such poverty.

Ghettos are much like this in the US but hardly anyone ever generalizes the health of the country based on these neighborhoods.

I am confused, what is the message these guys are trying to convey by saying there is malnutrition (which is true) and showing a perfectly healthy-looking child. There is a mismatch in the message.

Tajikistan is a beautiful country, and people are hospitable and very nice. Not all the people live in povetry(as it is said),i think its normal for every country to have poor and rich people!
