I agree with both of you Parisa and Leila. Actually it is true that the goldern tooth is cheaper than the ceramic one but a lot of people substitute stong and healthy tooth by golden one because that way, as they believe, they will look more beautiful and richer. It is some kind of image-making. Rahmonov in one of his internviews brings an example about young girls who get golden teeth before their marriage, just because they want to surprise their future husbands. Actually to some extent Rahmonov is right that it is sick to replace a strong and healthy teeth by golden, but it is \"no good\" that decision is made on the state level about the private issues. Tajiks are supposedly living in the democratic country and everyone should make decisions for himself/herself.

As far as I know, it's cheaper to have golden teeth than white ceramic teeth. It's exactly the poverty (bad nutrition, water, not enough vitamins) that makes people change their teeth to gold. What's next, Rakhmonov, moustache?..

I do not even know what to say regarding the above article. The only thing what I would like to say is I don't like gold teeth myself, but the thing is that Tajikistan is a poor country and those people who don't have strong and healthy teeth can't afford a better metal to substitute them for. Of course, it seems ugly to wear gold teeth and show them while smiling, but this is a democratic country and our Government has to take it into consideration.
