OSCE observers were deported from Russia
Following the article of Alexander Sadykov about the disagreement of OSCE and CIS observers on presidential election in Tajikistan. Today Asia plus reported that four representatives of OSCE were deported from Moscow to Prague for violation of visa regulations.
In the morning the representatives of OSCE were coming from Dushanbe to Yekateriburg. After the elections they wanted to go to Helsinki through Yekaterinburg and Moscow. They were detained by the representatives of frontier service in the airport of “Koltsovo”.
The international observers used the single-use visa, as the result they were not even let pass to the territory of Russia. “When it was determined that they do not have the right to cross the border, the frontier guards led them to a special room, which is in accordance with international law is considered as the neutral territory.”
I don’t understand this. How come that the representatives of OSCE could violate the visa regulations?
After this, the statement of OSCE on the elections in Tajikistan can be discredited due to the fact that the observers violated international law. It will be a good source for speculations in Tajikistan and the authorities now have a good reason to blame the OSCE observers for their incompetence.
