Last year before the presidential elections in Chkalovsk, the city in the northern parts of Tajikistan, was conducted a contest on the best essay and drawing among the secondary school students, reports Varorud (RUS). The theme of the contest was “I’m electing a president”. It was organized by a local NGO at financial support of US embassy in Tajikistan.

The main goal of this contest was the improvement of knowledge among the youth in the field of electoral law and facilitation of their participation in political life. The winners of the contest were: a 15 year old girl from Chkalovsk (essay) and a 14 year old girl from Khujand (drawing).

The essay of the winner was not posted on the website but there was posted the drawing. I find the drawing very informative. It reflects the reality in Tajikistan, observed by a teen.
