		<description>I totally agree with you,,, it's quite funny to hear that tajik people need a law (imposed by the state) to realize that they are spending too much on local ceremonies. But I also understand tajik poeple because the social and family pressure does not allow them to be reasonable in their spendings, there is always this judjemental opinion of others that is always waiting to juge or critisize those who do not spend enough for their son or daughter's weddings...</description>

		<description>Vadim, I imagine it is a cultural thing.  I hope that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan pass similar laws.  For the village people, everything revolves around to'y [parties], whether it is a wedding party or a circumcision party.  Russian weddings are also big events, but I think that Uzbek, Tajik, etc weddings are much more lavish.  The money saved by outlawing both the large wedding and the kalim [bride price] must truly be millions of dollars.

Of course, the business side of weddings might be hurting now, but I think that they themselves, these businessmen and women, are also happy to know they can save money on their own sons and daughters.</description>
