Today about three hundred people came out to the streets of Khorog to protest against the despotism of law enforcement authorities, reports AsiaPlus (rus). They demand to have punished all the corrupted representatives of these authorities.

According to the participants of the rally, on 14th of March in Roshtkala district of Gorno-Badakhshan Region two public prosecutors were beaten for blackmail because the local people had no other way to punish them. The leaders of the protesters are currently holding negotiations with the governor and the heads of all the law enforcement authorities in the governors office.

Another demand of the protestors is the return of six villages of Gorno-Badakhshan which were passed to Tavildara district (Region of republican subordination) by a decision of the national parliament. The protestors say that in accordance with the constitution of Tajikistan the national parliament had no right to change the borders of region without the permission of the local parliament.
