Gunfight in Kulob
Yesterday when I was in public transport a young guy was sitting next to me. He looked very much upset. He called several times in several minutes to someone and asked if everything is fine with them. Then he turned to me and spontaneously said, “I sent home my children yesterday and the gunfight started today”. He meant Kulob. His children were there and he was really nervous as many other people in the country.
Suhrob Langariev, a brother of Langari Langariev, one of the former Popular Front leaders, together with his nephew and six Afghan citizens started shooting at the representatives of law-enforcement bodies at the time when they tried to detain them for storage of narcotics.
The gunfight lasted the whole day. Finally by the end of the day Suhrob Langariev and his group were detained and put in retrial detention facility run by the State Committee for National Security (GKNB). It was reported by AsiaPlus (rus).
Unfortunately this gunfight took the lives of two civilians and one officer from State Committee for National Security.
