Fund in the name of Olympic medalist

Tajik banker Mulloyor Yorov wants to establish a Fund (rus) in the name of the first ever Tajik Olympic medalist Rasul Boqiev, who recently secured a bronze medal for Tajikistan in judo.

Obviously, it is good reason to be proud of him as a citizen of Tajikistan, but the Olympic Games are not over yet, hopefully will have one or two more. Other sportsmen are also showing good results, which was not expected from them. Recently, Jahon Kurbonov, the barely known Tajik boxer defeated a famous Uzbek boxer with high scores. So, there comes a reasonable question: is the banker ready to establish one or two more Funds in the names of our sportsmen and women. I guess, the answer is no.

But anyway good for the banker that he has such a good initiative and I wish this inspires our young sportsmen to win more medals in world championships. As you may remember, I was very pessimistic about our team, since they got trained in terrible conditions. Our government does not have enough money to train and equip properly the sportsmen. But now I understand that conditions for trainings are not the major priority in winning medals.

By the way, Wikipedia has a full coverage of our team in Olympic Games.
